Amarillo

Y'all ever been to Amarillo Texas? I feel somewhat like I'm in a western movie.
Ok here's the trip details:
After eating brunch on saturday we waited around for Ty's parents to pack up because they were at the base for the board meetings. The goodbyes were weird! Saying goodbye to all the Mexicans was strange, I'm just excited to reunite with them in Kenya! The Thurmans rode in the van with us until we got to the office where their car was parked. We did most of our traveling in New Mexico actually. We stopped at a steak house called K-Bobs, Ty's parents payed for us. It was really good! Overall the trip was about 12 hours with waiting in the border line and eating. We decided to all stay the night at the Thurmsns because it was like 1:20 and we didn't want to have to go to our separate host families that late. We had to leave the house at about 7:45 to get to church. That means we got about 4 hours of sleep with the time change and everything. Ty's church has three services. We got introduced in all of them and in the first two we left after that to talk to the Sunday schools (like small groups before church). The last one we stayed through the whole service and ate the lunch they had after. The whole time we were selling salsa for a donation price of $5. We had made 56 little cans of salsa and we should have made like 150 cans! We ran out before the third service and there were a lot of disappointed people. Overall we made $1,019! It was so fun! I have never enjoyed talking to people at a church before. They were all so welcoming and passionate! The whole day went so fast! The service we sat through felt like it was only a few seconds! Ty told us that it was a bit of culture shock because the mexican services are so long! After church Marissa and Elizabeth went with their host family and me and Lauren are back at the Thurman's house for now. I think we are going to go to our host family's house after the prayer meeting we are attending tonight at St. Stephens. I'm excited to see what the rest of this week has for us!
Some things I am grateful for:
The smell of a home, the decorations of fall, donuts in the morning, blankets, an english sermon, carpet and God's faithfulness and provision. He is great!
