Finally Fruit

We have been doing the same stuff as before but this week we added a twist. We have been dressing up like clowns for the whole thing! It has been fun to be able to connect with the kids in a different way but it has still felt like the same old thing over and over. It got to a point where I believe almost all of us were a bit discouraged and sick of doing the same thing when God stepped in and helped us out. Doing ministry the way we are doing it right now we never see the fruit of our work, but God showed us the fruit when a friend of church had her son and his friend come home from a show and repeat the entire show and ask more about Jesus. Another way was kids were going and getting really interested in the church! It was so evident that we needed that boost of confidence and it showed through our next couple of shows. It was a great reminder too that although we may not see our fruit, we can't get discouraged because God called us here for a purpose and He will use us whether we know it or not.
Prayer Requests:
Some us us have started not to feel so good (we have some headaches, stomachaches and sore throats)
Renewed energy as we are all tired
And a renewed passion

Miss you all!!

New friends

We finished our time in Ventanilla yesterday and it was a strange thing. We made so many new friends in only a week and now we are already leaving. We made plans to see them again before we leave but I will for sure miss them! We led the church service at Gospel last night and it was powerful and the Holy Sprirt was really there. It was a little discouraging because I could see the Holy Spirits presence but I couldn't really feel it and when we were praying for the people of the church I felt a lack of connection because of the language barrier but I know that God spoke to them what He wanted them to hear through me. It's been hard for me to give God time to speak to me while I've been here. It's easy for me to speak to Him but for some reason I find it so easy to make excuses not to take time aside to listen. Today is a completely free day besides eating so I have no excuses today :). There are many things I want to here from Him so if you could be praying it would be much appreciated! Some thing in specific I am searching Him for are my future and why I am here. We have been doing devos for each other each day and Lauren was the first to go and she encouraged us to ask God why we are here. Personally aske Him why He has brought us to Peru.
I have stayed very healthy as has my team, a few feel a little under the weather but nothing too serious and that is a praise! Along with smooth bus traveling! Thanks so much for all your prayers! Continue to pray that we will be a great witness to all the Pruvians and that we won't pass by any opportunity to witness.

Programs

Hey guys! You may be wondering what's going on in my life. Well here is your answer :)
We have been going to a city called Ventanilla about an hour away. We have been working with a small church there and they have been taking us to different schools where we perform for them. I my past blogs i talked about creative arts classes and this is where we put what we learned in them to practice. We do skits, puppets, clowns and give testimonies for the kids. We have done this for 3 days now and it has been really cool. It was weird at the time but now im used to it. There are some things that are still wierd. Like when we go to a school and they all want our autograph or they want a picture with someone in specific. The people at the church that we are working with (Gospel Church) are so great. They are very friendly and super open. I am talking a lot more Spanish here and getting better at it finally! Thats such a praise! It's actually crazy because the things I thought I wouldn't like are actually not that bad. Like getting up at 7 and having an hour and 1/4 bus ride. I like starting early and the bus rides I read and its a good chatting time. The only thing i don't like anpbout Peru is their accent. They smush their words together and always sound like they are selling something, but like the rest of things , I have gotten used to it and it doesn't bother me.
Overall I really like Peru and can't wait to see what God has in store for us here :)

Hanging around

Hey guys!
Im not going to be posting as much because we can only use Internet like twice a week. There is free wifi here but that is a team rule so that we are not spending all our extra time online and not with each other. I don't mind the rule too much, it just stinks that i won't be able to update you guys as frequently.
So far we have mostly been hanging out and walking around. We went downtown yesterday and although the bus rides were really long, it was worth it. We saw the presidents house, the biggest cathedral, a wedding happen in that cathedral, we went to the top of the mountain to the lookout with a huge cross and just walked the downtown streets. Sometimes I'm suprised at how much I Spanish I can understand, although it is harder here because of their accent. Like in church today it was hard to pay attention. It might have also been tht I was sitting next to Eli :) and he was being so cute.
The family we live above cooks for us. She is a grand cook and thinks we should all be bigger! Her portions are SO HUGE!! I thought I was going to lose weight on outreach but its looking the opposite.
That's really all I can think of, here are some pictures!

PERU!!

We arrived at the base (an additional floor above the base leaders parents house) at 1:00 am Peru time. Its currently 10 here and we are about to eat breakfast. The plane rides went well! No throwing up this time! :) the second flight we watched Captain America and had plane dinner which was actually pretty good! We are living pretty much outside. It's so cool! I'll have to get used to the sound of car horns all the time but that won't be too hard. It's the prefect weather here! Thank you guys so much for all the prayers! They were definantly heard! Can't wait to update you more!

CURVEBALL!

I havent posted sinse the Mexicans came back because I didnt want to act like nothing was happening when big stuff has been happing that we couldnt share at first because we were not certain. The day the Mexicans came home we had a prayer time at night. The plan was just to hear from God. Whatever He had to tell us we were willing to listen. About an hour in we hadn't heard anything and were ready to leave and that's when He started speaking. Things became crazy and confusing as God showed us that Kenya wasn't what was on our minds. We kept pursuing Him late into the night and had to stop because we were so tired. The next morning before and after lunch we got together and kept seeking Him. He began to show us that we are not going to go to Kenya. Although it was surprising, it makes sense in more ways than one. We all feel peace about this and are really excited about where we are going. God was showing us different places in southern Mexico, Panama and Peru. We are going (probably have gone by the time you get this) November 9-10 to Lima, Peru and from there we are going to Mexico City on the 7th of December. We decided against Panama because plane tickets are more expensive than plane tickets to Kenya!  The cool thing is that we can minister to all the places God was speaking to us in southern Mexico by going to Mexico City. On the 9th and 10th of December the Mexicans celebrate the virgin of Guadalupe. This is a catholic celebration representing the Virgin Mary and people come from far and wide, many walking the whole way on their knees, to receive gifts from her and to thank her for previous gifts. The scary thing is that these gifts happen, it is very demonic. This is an exciting opportunity and I ask that you guys look it up so that you can pray more effectively. So, the reason I didn't blog about it was because I wanted to be certain of everything and not mislead you guys. I am so excited about all of this as is my
team! The only downside is that some of us are leaving Wednesday and others Thursday. This was on account of buying tickets online for cheaper prices and things didn’t work out as planned. I will be flying with the group on Thursday.
I want to emphasize the fact that God has been powerful throughout this whole change. It may seem that we changed plans just because we didn’t have enough money, but that was only the eye opener. God opened our eyes that He had other things planned for us by not sending all the money. If God wouldn’t have shown us differently we would still have headed to the airport even though we didn’t have the sufficient funds. We still don’t know exactly why God had us invest so much into going to Kenya but we know that He has a greater plan and we will follow Him where He leads us, and that is to Peru and Mexico City!!  We now are completely paid off, plane tickets bought and bags packed! Hopefully I’ll be able to keep in touch!
One thing we have done while waiting to leave on outreach was go on a march for peace! It was really cold but really cool! We walked about 3 miles with a whole bunch of other people, I would guess around 500.

I want to apologize for leaving you guys in the dark for a while but I didnt want to mislead you!
Love,
Kelsey Rae Klumpstra

A 'mustached' welcome

So I was misinformed and the mexicans came back today. Yesterday we bought fake mustaches and wore them to pick the rest of our family up from the bus station. Their bus was late and so us 5 Americans sat in the bus station for 2 hours with mustaches on. It was hilarious.

It is so good to have them back! These last few days we have been helping out where we can. We cleaned out the schools closet, helped out with Felixs comedor and cleaned out the office in El Paso. Other than that we are waiting on the Lord to provide the funds we need. I told you guys that we could buy plane tickets but we are waiting and that we still need 20,000 but we found out yesterday that was a mistake. Ty didn't factor in the staff and so we can't even buy plane tickets if we wanted to and thus it brings our total need to 24,000ish. Thanks so much for all your prayers and I ask that you continue to pray for finances and faith.
