First church experience

Yesterday was Sunday, and so we went to church. We went to a church called Centro Apostolico Vida, which is Ty, Lea and Lalo's church. The worship was great! It was lie we were at a rock concert Jesus style. They had 3 flag people in the front who had coriagraphed (sp?) flag spinning. [Jilly this made me think of you :)] then we took communion with a tiny unflavoraful cracker. The whole service was a little more than 2 hours but it felt like 5 hours because of the sermon. I could catch a few things but overall I kept tuning it out and thinking about other things (like how uncomfortable the chairs were) and then i would focus on just trying to find words i know. That was ok but not satisyfying for that long of time. So church was over and we were asking Ty what the sermon was about, and he said that he didn't even know. The pastor was so all over the place that it didn't make sense. So i guess i didn't miss much.

we then headed to the mall. It was a beautiful mall. Very modern and nice. There we went to the food court and had lunch. I had a burrito from Los mondanos de chiuaua (I spelled that wrong) and it was delicious. Then we got some gelato, mine was oreo flavored, and that was ok, I liked the cone more than i like the gelato but it was defiantly a great choice for desert. Then we had some extra time so we walked around the mall and laughed a lot. Erick is hilarious and him and Marissa kept spilling which made it even funnier. Before headin back to the base we went to a local store and got some essentials.

We got back to the base around 5 after leaving at 11! I had dinner prep so i did that at 5:30 with the help of Marissa (i didn't want to have to do it by myself). I made some awesome warm ham and cheese subs:). Then after dinner I taught Lauren and Erick how to play pause 10 (the whole time i was playing i was thinking about you amber:) it took a while with the language barrier (the directions to the game were only in English . . . .) but after a while they got it and Martin came and played so he helped Erick understand a little bit better. After 8 rounds it was time to go to bed. I did not win because of beginners luck.

Today has been a beautiful day.
The morning was a perfect temperature with some lovely wind, which we haven't had a lot of, blowing through the base. Instead of worship this morning we did 'plan B'. Which consisted of individually walking around the campus looking for something that reminded you of God or who He is. That was a cool activity and it was even cooler to see how others had seen God through the things we found on the ground.

We had our first class today!
Jason Hinton is speaking to us this week about the nature and character of God. It was a day of introduction to it but i already really like him as a teacher. He is starting a base in Greece so any of you interested can talk to him :)! He is a really cool guy. Well it's almost time for our first small group so I will let y'all go.

Love you and hope everything thing is going well (especially for those who are gettin ready to head off to colege! Crazy!)
